What
a week 2!

As Ella mentioned in her blogs, this was quite
a week....developmentally speaking. Two teeth,
Rolling over, sitting much more confidently, drinking
from a sippy cup
slow down little girl, mommy
can't keep up! It's impossible to communicate
how much my love for her grows every day. She
is absolutely amazing! Funny story: Ella's carseat
is equipped with hanging bugs and rings to keep
her entertained while on the road. Well, on the
way back home from Ella's 6 month well-child doctor's
visit, she fell asleep. When I looked in the mirror,
I saw her fast asleep
with her pointer finger
wrapped around her ring dangling high above her
head. I hoped she would hold on till I got home
to my camera, but as we pulled into the garage,
the little finger gave out and her arm flopped
down limply to her side. I need to always have
my camera in tow!!

What
a week!

This has been quite a week in the world of mommy-hood.
There have been many firsts: first rice cereal...organic
of course, finding our voice, wiggling our way
off of our bouncy chair, pulling our legs underneath
us while on our tummy...I call it the stink-bug
pose. After all of this, I am reminded of the
cliche..."enjoy them now, because they grow
up so fast." This saying has become a bitter-sweet
reality for me this week...Love you Ella...Mommy
is trying to keep up with you.

Why
a daughter needs a daddy...

When we found out that we were having a little
girl, I gave a book to Jo entitled "Why a
Daughter Needs a Dad." It illustrates moments
when Daddy's are their little girls' heroes. I
tell Ella daily how lucky she is to have Jo as
her Daddy. He has effortlessly become such an
amazing father, and as a result, Ella is truely
becoming a "Daddy's Girl." Thank you
Jo, for showing Ella what a good man truely is...because
some day, you will be the standard against which
she will judge all men...Good luck boys...the
bare has been set high!
